This is an aspect of the hobby I have not explored. I have to ask, is this a novelty or is it an addition to your system that is used with all music styles and movies? Does it get fatiguing? Since I seriously got involved in quad/surround in the ‘70’s I have enjoyed the fact that most aspects were doable by the home hobbyist with results that sounded and looked good. Are we getting beyond that with these shakers?

I would say that people may be looking for different things. In terms of our customers, it seems that they want to listen to what they want late in the evening without disturbing others. You don't have to want surround sound. You can do just Stereo, if you like. We generally also sell them Sennheiser RS-130 Wireless Headphones. They work very well and are comfortable. They recharge when not being used. You can plug the headphones into your Stereo or Surround Sound Receiver. This usually cuts off the sound going to your speakers. You will want to turn off your Subwoofer (s). You get very nice Surround Sound ( or Stereo Sound) from the headphones. You get great low frequency energy from the Tactile Drivers. (Depending on which tactile drivers you buy.) I even got very good results using Aura Bass shakers in conjunction with a Digital Amp. You can control the amount of bass energy that comes thru your furniture. Some prefer to mount the shakers to a piece of plywood, and sliding it under the sofa. Make sure you have enough power to get the results that you are looking for. For the maximum effect, use an Earthquake 10.0 Tactile Driver along with the matching TD Amp with 1,000 watts. This thing will rock your world. If you read above, you will see that I have it mounted in my Hot Tub. Just 1 driver is amazing. I'm talking about a Hot Tub that's 92" X 92" and hold 450 gallons of water. I think I could create a Tidal wave if I wanted to.

I use Dayton Puck, bought from California, USA.

When the first one arrived early last year I was sceptical about it? WOW it really does vibrate for such a dinky small size.

I experimented with various placements to find which location on the seating can provide the most vibration with less power or gain input from the mixer that I use the fader/sliders and master fader to set level for each film.

They are fitted into the seat buckets of the Irwin cinema rocker seats.

I have so far settled on some MDF off-cuts with drill saw cut into the MDF and fitted the PUCK.

Replace the seat cushions back to the seat buckets.

The audio mixer that has the line outputs from LF LCR and SW from THX sound system feed to the line inputs on mixer.

I use sine wave spot frequency tones to test and not a whole lot I can do when the seat rattles expect turn the gain level down so its not distracting.

Too many films that feel exciting.

"APOLLO 13" dts THX Laserdisc, when the astronauts are getting strapped in the command module, from a foot pressing into the shoulder and strap harnesses pulled damn tight!

Feeling the hand grip at 34m 58s as (Tom Hanks) "Lovell" prepares launch.

Fuel pumps rumble the seats.

"Fuel pumps. This is it. Fuel pumps and we're hulling the mail."

Powerful rumble track!

I can feel it in seat bucket the seat back the armrests and partly in the seat flooring and some bass mid to the chest at times.

I did some calculations a few weeks ago that it would be possible to fit x6 maybe x8 into each seat bucket but that would be pushing it. Not for silly seat rattle to the point where it breaks apart. :yikes

What I'm after is separate LCRS and LFE.1 in the seat as I get worried about blending all channels onto a single PUCK. So far no problems and that is how I like to be.

I'd have to use thicker MDF not too thick otherwise the seat cushion might have problem latching back into place?
