    Columbia Special Products (CQ 10869)
I have this same album (CQ 10869) with the track listing as listed by Flaquad, but the title on mine is "The Full Spectrum of Quadraphonic Sound".

Zenith Allegro Compatible Stereo & 4 Channel Demonstration Record
    Zenith 16302 F3041R
(specially produced for Zenith by Stereo Dimension Records)

I looked all over for the encoding method used on this album, and finally found an "SQ" in the trailout vinyl on side one, but NOT side two -- so side two may have some phasing effects but I'll guess it's not SQ. Haven't listened to it yet.

Side 1 "For use in demonstrating all Zenith 4-channel instruments"
    1. A Shade of Brass - Bobby Byrne
    2. What the World Needs Now is Love - Today's People
    3. Gonna' Make it This Time - Harbus
    4. Prelude in A flat Crazy (Classical Variations) - The Mike Quatro Jam Band

Side 2 "For use in demonstrating all Zenith models with "Speaker Matrix. Also compatible for demonstrating 2-channelstereo on any Zenith stereo model"
    1. Donna - The Electric Hair
    2. Can't Take My Eyes Off You - Bobby Byrne
    3. Songs for Singing - Harbus
    4. (Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay - Today's People
    5. Time of the Season - Today's People

    Thanks for all the updates.

I will add the additions to the discography during the second week in October while I am on vacation, so if you can get any more additions done by then it would be appreciated.

I always list contributors to the discography by name. If anyone would like to be recognized by his or her god given name instead of his or her screen name, PM me.

    Thanks for your support

Thanks for the input and additions.
I appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm as it helps me to get motivated to add additions after a tiring 12 years of updating the discography.
I have updated the main page of the anthology/sampler section for your viewing enjoyment.
I appreciate everyone’s effort so I do not have to dig thru my dusty collection for track listings.

I did not add one addition as I had a question about the catalog number

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

4 Channel Stereo ("4 Channel Demonstration" on label)
    Project3 PR-M4C-900 (LP)
    EV-4 (or QS)

SAME title as above, very similar cover with different colors... and a different lineup.

    Side One
    1. Moonlight Serenade - Enoch Light (from "Big Band Hits of the '30s")
    2. Kites are Fun - Tony Mottola (from "Warm, Wild, and Wonderful")
    3. Wichita Lineman - Enoch Light (from "The Brass Menagerie Vol. 1")
    4. What the World Needs Now is Love - Enoch Light (from "Spaced Out")
    5. South Rampart Street Parade" - World's Greatest Jazzband (from "World's Greatest Jazzband Vol II")

    Side Two
    1. Begin the Beguine - Enoch Light (from "Big Band Hits of the '30s")
    2. Slow Bus to Oswego - Enoch Light (from The Brass Menagerie Vol. II")
    3. Come On, Come On, Don't be Timido - Enoch Light (from "Spanish Strings")
    4. Lover's Concerto - Enoch Light (from "Spaced Out")
    5. Scarborough Fair- Enoch Light (from "Permissive Polyphonics")

    Mark Z
    ----------------------------------------------

I could not find a match to the discography and I added these while on vacation. I thought the catalog number seemed like a Q8 or Q4 but is listed as an LP.
If someone could help with the difference of what is listed on the discography and the above title, it will help so I do not have to dig thru the collection.

Just saw your note, Mark.... it's a strange looking number, but it says "PR-M4C-900" on the back of the jacket, the spine, the label, and the trailout area of the vinyl too. Ya got me. Anyone have the Q8 or Q4?

Here are two Motorola Q8s that I found over the weekend:

    Spectrum of 4-Channel Sound. PCQ8-1003 (Q8)
    Spectrum of 4-Channel Sound. PCQ8-1004 (Q8)

Both are already on Mark's list. These two have the exact same lineup, but 1003 is trimmed in blue and 1004 in orange. The sleeve for 1004 is orange as well, and the text suggests that it might have come with a Motorola home system of some type. Both are in red RCA tape cases.

Also Sprach Zarathustra - Chicago Symphony Orch.; Reiner
Yellow Submarine - Boston Pops; Arthur Fiedler
Good Morning Starshine - Broadway Cast of "Hair"
    Watusi Trumpets - Claus Ogerman
    People - Marty Gold
    Undun - The Guess Who
    --
    Grand Canyon Suite
Cloudburst - Boston Pops; Arthur Fiedler
Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head - Ed Ames
Plastic Fantastic Lover - Jefferson Airplane
Wabash Cannonball - Danny Davis & Nashville Brass
Aquarius - Broadway Cast of "Hair"
1812 Overture (conclusion) - Royal Philharmonic Orch.; Buketoff

This Motorola Q8 is not on Mark's list, and is a Columbia compilation rather than an RCA. The tracks are commonly found on other Columbia samplers.

4 Channel Stereo Demonstration. CQ 10929

    Chase - Open Up Wide
Peter Matz - Highlights of The Best of Burt Bacharach
Peter Nero - For All We Know
Santana - Black Magic Woman / Gypsy Queen
    -
Dean Jones and Company - Side by Side by Side / What Would We Do Without You (from "Company")
Elaine Stritch, Barbara Barrie, Charles Kimbrough and Company - The Little Things You Do Together (from "Company")
Barbra Streisand and Girls - Roller Skate Rag (from "Funny Girl")
Ruby Keeler and Boys - I Want to Be Happy (from "No, No, Nanette")

Thanks for posting that, Lucanu! Interesting that there are both Ampex and RCA versions...

Say, does anyone out there have the quad version of Project3 6019/20 "Guitar Tapestry"? I have been studying the tracks on Project3 6009/10 "The Great Jazz Album" and 6011/12 "Super Solo", and would like some info on "Guitar Tapestry" as there are similarities between these three. Saw one a while back but the seller wanted more than I was willing to pay.

    Technics 4 Channel Record

    NAS 240

    King Record Co., Ltd, Japan

    RM (QS)

    Side 1

    0.) spoken introduction in japanese

1.) La Virgen de la Macarena (Monterde Calero)

    2.) Love Story (F.Lai)

3.) some japanese title, unreadble for me

    4.) Red River Valley (Traditional)

    Side 2

    1.) Le Mans (M. legrand)

    2.) Day Tripper (Lennon, McCartney)

    3.) Jealousy (Gade, Bloom)

4.) The Mill at the Forest (Eilenberg)

5.) (They Long Go) Close To You (H. David, B. Bacharach)

Found this in shop for used records in Osaka

The printing inside the gatefold cover is 99% japanese. Can't get any information about the orchestra out of that. Maybe some japanese member can see more in the picture of the track list.
The text contains some explanation about 4 Channel in general and about Technic's AFD (Acoustic Field Dimension Control) feature in their receivers and separate decoders. I remember such conrol on my SX8000 which is in storage currently. Most Tracks are instrumental only. All with an astonishing channel separation when played through the QRX 9001 QS decoder.

That's hilarious! A demonstration tape, and they *still* had to split a song in half!
