Man, talk about your instant-classic album covers...

Yeah, in my state we recently legalized "real" fireworks. Younger me would've been overjoyed; old cranky me is just annoyed at all the racket.

(Now playing: The Pursuit of Happiness, "I'm An Adult Now")

Cool...There's this other thread,, which, granted, it's called "fake QUAD", but it's really surround...and there are a lot of great sounding discs!!!

On my system, with un-encoded stereo source material, I generally get the best results with a large-woofer center channel presenting a focused bass in the front sound stage.
Other instruments and vocals often benefit from a 3-channel front as well IME, hence a new and separate thread.

YMMV. :hi

Miles Davis ~ before & after BB.
Not as discrete as the quad, but pleasingly spread around the room.

Miles Davis ~ Big Fun (Disc 2)

Significant surround effects, from a few folks you might recognize.
The 5.0 presentation really works well for bass in the center channel on Lonely Fire.
Effective isolation in the rears of DeJohnette's drums, & J Mac's funky "Shaft"-like wah guitar.
