Anyone have (or have a link to) a Sansui QS-D1000 manual that has a schematic of the unit?
I assume a repair manual would have one, but an owner's manual might also have a schematic. (Sansui was good about putting those in their owner's manuals.)

Thanks

I have a QSD-1000 with manual and the schematic came with it. I have been looking for it off & on to no avail. I will make a more dedicated effort & let you know if it turns up. I have bookmarked this post so I can get back to it easy.

Thanks , guys. I checked all my usual manual sites and couldn't find one - free or for paid DL. Anything you (or any other forum member) can provide is appreciated. My unit suddenly lost power and won't turn on and I am trying to help get it repaired.

I have looked and what I have is an owners manual photocopy all in Japanese as expected. There are no schematics inside showing the components.
I. Did find the address of the guy in Japan who sent it....,,,,long ago.
Would be nice to have a schematic and service manual for future reference.

I would be curious to see if you could scan the Japanese manual and use Google translate to decode it into English. I have used my cell phone to scan small notes from Japanese sellers to see what they said. It works not too bad most of the time.

It may also prove effective to do some copying or scanning of the Japanese and doing searches in Japanese.

For what its worth Ill take my copy to work next week and scan it as a PDF then try uploading it.
Hopefully Sonikwiz finds his copy sounds like he has a schematic.

Ok I have scanned my copy of the manual and emailed the PDF to myself. I will attempt to upload it to the quad info site when I get home.
IF Wagonmaster wants me to email it directly to him he should send me his email by way of private conversation here.
Everything in the manual is in Japanese but there are a few pictures and diagrams.

I have looked everyplace I know to look & still can't find the schematic, just the owners manual. As you said it's all in Japanese but the specs are understandable & basic hook up/operation would be the same as the QSD-2. So not as helpful as the schematic which is understandable, Japanese or not.

This schematic is one of those things that I k now I have because I randomly see a few times a year digging around & now that I want it I can't. I will recheck the most likely spots one more time. Sorry to be of no help so far....

Ok I have uploaded my owners manual scan to OldQuadguys quad info site. He just needs to reorder a couple of pages and post it. Eventually this should go to the HiFiEngine site too.
Hope SonikWiz or someone can find a real schematic or service manual to upload too.
There is probably a library in Japan with technical publications that has a copy but good luck for us finding it.

Bill, thanks so much for the schematic. Hopefully it will help the shop that has my 1000 figure out the problem in the power supply. Jefe1, thank you for the owners manual. I don't know if it will help with my problem, but it is always great to have owners manuals for my vintage equipment. (I sent you a PM.) Sonic Wiz, thanks for your efforts. If you find a better copy of the 1000's schematic, let me know. JR, I know about the QRX restore, but it appears they are really only interested in doing a full restorations. My unit was performing fine (what little I use it - I have several decoders) unitil I hit this problem with the power supply. If my guy can't figure it out, I will probably be sending my unit to the QRX restore.

Thank you to everyone that is trying to help out with my problem. This is one of the reasons I love this forum and the members on the site. I appreciate how everyone helps everyone. Thank you all.

Unless I'm overlooking something (always a chance of that) all I see is parts placement diagram, not a schematic. Also there are 2 main PC boards in the D1000. Looking at from the back this is a diagram of the left side board. It's the other board that containing the power supply and of course other variomatrix stuff.

At the risk of stating the obvious & being foolish, you are using a 100V step down transformer for this, right? And did this work before or did you buy recently & just tried it? Does the power on light come or anything happen? Or is it completely dread?

There are no visible power fuses internally to check or replace. I say visible because there's a small PCB mounted on the side wall that handles input power & routing to/from power switch. It might be hidden on bottom side of that between the PCB and the plastic wall of the enclosure.

Older units like D-2 had just 1 power supply that was adjustable to 25V. In the D1000 there are multiple power supplies. By the big transformer you can see VR1, VR2 associated with Q2 & Q5 respectively. This supplies the +- bipolar 15V for the input, output and basically everything but the QS chips. There is another voltage regulator M IC1 that probably derives the 25V for the Sansui chips, no adjustment control. Proper volts for the Sansui chips are:

HA1327 Phase Discriminator 25V pin 11
HD3103 FET IC 22.5V pin 9
HA1328 Matrix IC 25V pin 8

Sorry I can't be of more help at this time.
