Listening now to Wayne Shorter.

Listening now to The Carpenters-Singles. The only reason I purchased this from Acoustic Sounds was to add to my Japanese box collection.
Unfortunately what they sent me was the single layer SHM SACD in a plastic jewel case, but I understand that it is not guaranteed that you will get the box, I guess I could have called on the phone and had them look up there inventory.
It is not, nor has it ever been, my kind of music, but I will admit this is a very high quality recording that the SHM SACD really captures quite well.

Murray Head - Nigel Lived

Odd album, like a Broadway Cast recording.
Lyrics are good but very hard to follow, often buried in the mix.
Sound is pretty good.
Admire Intervention for releasing something so obscure on SACD, but this one isn’t destined to get much airplay from me

Dusty was indeed excellent.
Sadly she was followed by this, perhaps the worst sounding SACD I own.
I do not blame Audio Fidelity (other than their decision to release it) or Kevin Gray, but the original producer Mike Stone. A thin, over reverbed, indistinct wall of mushy sound.

I certainly agree on the Asia. It does sound absolutely horrible. I couldn't believe it.

Once upon a time I found her odd, warbly voice hard to listen to. An acquired taste.
Now I find her absolutely beguiling, especially on this album.
It’s a stunner IMHO

One of our local digital radio stations here has a show called ‘Essential Vinyl’ where they play entire albums, ad free. Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here now playing.

Harry “Big Daddy” Hypolite - Louisiana Country Boy
Recorded live to 2 track, on APO Records
Raw recording, a little rough at times but never boring
