I haven't seen any discussion on this board about the Audyssey MultEQ editor app for Denon and Marantz receivers (although I have seen discussion on other AV forums). I recently picked it up on the Play store (finally, a use for all that Google Opinions survey credit). I was wondering whether anyone here has played around with it, specifically in the context of music. I know most here would typically turn off all the equalising and filtering the Audyssey (or other software) calibration applies, as have I in the past.
Currently, I've run the calibration through the app, changed the high-frequency roll-off to be more gradual, turned off the midrange compensation the calibration typically applies, and limited the filters to frequencies under 500 Hz. I actually kind of like it. I used to have all the Audyssey settings off, but now I turn on MultEQ and set it to 'Reference'. I still keep Dynamic EQ off for music, as I find it makes everything sound harsh and makes the surrounds much too loud, but I turn it on for movies.
Does anyone else have any experience with the app? I'd be curious to hear your thoughts and opinions!
