What a waste of money and opportunity if they don't release it. Very frustrating for the fans. Totally hard to fathom.

But when one thinks of ALL those unreleased QUAD/5.1 masters in the vaults including Bob Clearmountain's own personal 5.1 remixes he randomly did from 2000 on, it's ALL really hard to fathom!

Last time I spoke with Steven, he wasn't optimistic that his remix would ever see the light of day, I'm sorry to say...
Ugh!!! That would be awful...especially considering how everyone here is recommending this album without reservation and are all reved up. To use a politically incorrect term, it’s what I would call in my younger years a “@#*& tease.” :(:(:(

Aptly put, AR, and to add insult to injury ... they got some set of BALLS!

Amazon UK has now pulled all of these listings.

The vinyl listing is still up on a few other amazon sites:
https://www.amazon.de/Seeds-Love-Tears-Fears/dp/B01LZ5K8MQ/https://www.amazon.fr/Seeds-Love-Belge-Tears-Fears/dp/B01LZ5K8MQ/https://www.amazon.co.jp/Seeds-Love-12-inch-Analog/dp/B01LZ5K8MQ/https://www.amazon.com/TBC-VINYL/dp/B01LZ5K8MQ/
And the 2-CD and 1-CD listings are still up on amazon.co.jp:
https://www.amazon.co.jp/TBC/dp/B081KQ2NRY/https://www.amazon.co.jp/TBC/dp/B083XW6887/
Sometimes amazon jumps the gun on listing titles and they get pulled until right before the official announcement, so while it's not a good sign, I'm not panicking, yet...

I understand it may be a Sticky Wicket to reveal too much; but that’s still rather vague. The band doesn’t like the mix, or the money, or the packaging/artwork, etc. etc., or all the above?

I think it's more a case of the Band not wanting to say, so Steven is just the messenger.

The Band apparently has it's reasons but doesn't want to say.

So my Funny ironic story about all this is I was a juvenile stoner who frequented the local juice bar in 1990. I drove the 10 miles to get my smoothie and listened to TFF The Seeds of Love on the way home only to inexplicably drop the smoothie in a smooth mess on the concrete upon exit of the vehicle upon return home.

what goes around comes around

Is this Badfinger surround sample you posted taken from the 1997 "Badfinger" film? I've been looking since you posted the FLAC, and I read that songs in the film were remixed for 5.1 surround. If so, I will try to find a better price than the ones on Amazon that are going from $53-$120 US!

Maybe it is from a compilation of some sort...

I finally found a box set listing: Tears For Fears - The Seeds Of Love: Amazon.de: Musik
But it has a release date of December 31st, which usually is not a good sign...

Also, Paul Sinclair's recent comments recent comments don't make me optimistic. When the listings first started to appear, someone asked him about it. His comment was:
Roland did say that the Seeds reissue was coming later this year, however he also said there would be a digital single, The Tipping Point, in April and *that* never happened! All I will say is that the reissue of Seeds has now taken longer than the original album!
Not encouraging, but also not discouraging. However, three days later, someone asked him again and he had this to say:
Don’t get your hopes up is all I will say on the matter… :/
So the later quote is less encouraging than the first. Makes me wonder if he did some asking around only to get a disappointing answer. We've been waiting on this for five years now. I'm really starting to feel like Charlie Brown.

No. That was me. I used Penteo, iZotope RX7, and a bit of voodoo to get that mix. I worked the entire album for my car. Some of it came out really well, other tunes not so much. Such are the trials of upmixing.

PS - I actually have that "Badfinger Film" DVD somewhere. I should check it out and see if it's real 5.1. If so, I will report back in a different thread
