Amazon.com just activated their SACD listing and are currently showing a release date of August 21st, 2020.

Their vinyl listing has been active for several days at least, now, and shows a release date of September 18th, 2020.

Is this the first time a hip hop album has been rereleased by an audiophile label?

I think so. Like much (non-classic) rock and pop, hip-hop and rap were and are seemingly disinterested in audiophile re-releases, so I believe this is the first one that should sound good, if not the first one, period.

Kind of weird about this Run DMC release. I ordered in August with the Johnny Cash mono I walk the line. About two weeks ago MOFI contacted me and said the RUN DMC is delayed, I said OK, just send me Johnny Cash. Then 1 week later RUN DMC gets released, again and I order and it arrives today, I guess they needed an extra $7.99 in shipping.

Nice toe porn dude. lmao

I was watching a You Tube clip where Rick Beato was interviewing Vinnie Colaiuta and when asked what is your #1 drum recording he said without hesitatation Tony Williams on Miles Davis-Nefertiti. In college he said he listened every night before sleep.
So I thought I would re-listen to this 2015 MOFI release of the 1968 album in stereo focusing on Tony Williams, quite brilliant indeed.

I don't think Mobile Fidelity gets enough credit for the work they do on these stereo SACD's...at least for the last several years...
I completely agree with you, I always jump at the chance. I think they have a little sneaky thing however, that I have noticed.
When they are released I like to buy from MOFI direct, shipping is fast, packaging always good, and not that it should matter i will get a lower release number which satisfies the collector in me.
That said, they charge $7.99 in shipping, which is expensive.
What I have noticed is they usually release in pairs, but a week apart.
I am not saying on purpose, but $7.99 X 2 is now really significant.
Last week when Paul Simon was released, I thought, I'm going to wait and see what happens, but I pulled the trigger anyway, thinking my theory is probably wrong.
Sure enough this week they release Alan Parsons Project - Eye In The Sky.
My gut was correct.
I did not purchase as I have the BD-A surround version.

What’s wrong with II? I’ve only got their SACD of Learning to Crawl, but thought it sounded great.
I have Learning To Crawl too. It sounds great but the Pretenders II disc sounds like a blanket is covering my speakers while listening. Upon doing some reading, I found out many other people are reporting the same thing.
