I'm not really familiar with this artist (other than the repeated mentions here on QQ) but has it been mentioned that the "3D Audio Mix" is by Fritz Hilpert, one of the members of Kraftwerk?

I'm not really familiar with this artist (other than the repeated mentions here on QQ) but has it been mentioned that the "3D Audio Mix" is by Fritz Hilpert, one of the members of Kraftwerk?
It is now in my importCDs basket, sounded pretty good, waiting for Santana SACD... tic tic tic...

Booka Shade's Galvany Street is one of the best Atmos mixes there is.

It makes sense given that Kraftwerk's 3-D (The Catalogue) is so highly regarded here as well - I couldn't find a specific mixing credit other than 'mixed by Kraftwerk' (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) so you'd presume that Hilpert either did that mix too, or took part in it, at the very least.

This is the reason I bought Lotus, in hopes of encouraging more.

I wish those of you who weren't there could glean some small inkling of what it was like when this album hit the racks 41 years ago this month.
As if it came from another planet, such a unique sound.
Presented with the full weight of Columbia Records and Bill Graham Productions behind it, it moved up the charts that autumn, then blew up the next summer when the Woodstock movie came out.

Context of what else was selling for Christmas 1969:
( A few we now have in new surround re-issues!)

Certainly off topic, but compare that 1969 Billboard Top 20 to any recent one. Today’s music scene leaves a lot to be desired and most artists will be forgotten within a year to be replaced by another over produced and auto tuned piece of flotsam. Yeah, I’m getting old!

I have enjoyed “GRAVITY” many times now. A wonderful mix of influences, textures and feels. Excellent immersive mix and a great dynamic range to boot. I recommend it without reservation.

This year's Patricia Barber album Higher is available as a 5.1 DSD/DXD download starting today. All the info including tech specs and free booklet download is accessible here at NativeDSD Music.
View attachment 55449

I'd love to get this: I'm a big Patricia Barber fan, and I count both Modern Cool and the "unmastered" SACD 2.0 edition of Cafe Blue as audiophile reference discs. Jim Anderson and Ulrike Schwarz do brilliant work. But it irks me a little that this mix wasn't made available to patrons who supported the original release of the album last year on ArtistShare. And I don't want to crap on the people who prepared the mix for distribution, either; they deserve to be compensated for their labor, expertise, etc. (See mastering engineer Tom Caulfield's comments here.) Even so...€26 for the DSD64 5.1 download alone?

The writeup at NativeDSD indicates that this is being released under the auspices of Impex Records, a mostly-vinyl audiophile outfit that has released a handful of hybrid SACDs (though none of them hybrid multi-channel, at least not so far). It's a NativeDSD exclusive right now, but I wonder if it will see an eventual physical release?

Well that U.S. 2CD/1BD link isn’t working for me, the Japan link works, but would prefer an English version. Even though Japanese BDs may be more stable against disc rot

Loving the New Sony Japan Quad 4 Channel. Herbie Hancock "Headhunters"
1973 SACD. I have the 5.1 channel SACD as well.
The Bill Summers Percussion Effect break on track one is so much louder on 4 channel.
I have changed the case to a 2 CD case - So both in one great place.

It seems so much more punch in it ,on 4 channel.
I am glad I bought it on CDJapan
had to pay £20 extra to DHL to cover import taxes as well
but glad to have another SACD in the original 4 Channel mix
and on my Pioneer I get the Bass speaker as well

Quality Sony Japan Mix.

Is this not available anywhere else? Surely if they want this to be profitable it should be more freely available. How many people have even heard of bandwear.com?
I bought this too from them and they said it still not in stock and i asked them when it will be and they never replied.. took my money too. Sent them a reply how to hear something.
