"Yesterday while listening to the mono Johnny Cash SACD and marveling at how I enjoyed it I decided to order Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane. Yes I know long time coming on my part but I didn't hesitate on Johnny Cash and found out I actually can enjoy mono SACDs." Quoted from earlier post by me.

Well now that I have Surrealistic Pillow and listened to it enough I will say I much prefer the stereo CD songs over the mono SACD of same songs. Johnny Cash was very good because their isn't much going on. Surrealistic Pillow has a lot going on and IMO the mono crunches it. I also find the sonics a bit edgey. Such is life "live and learn". In my case I learned that I need only buy mono SACDs where the music is relatively simple, and yes "relatively simple" is a personal opinion.

i think this is my favorite SHM-SACD

You may already know this, but apparently the master tapes were recently found and this is being released as a stereo SACD. I just pre-ordered it on Elusive Disc for $29.00.

Good find but I suspect this is one of those Analogue Production SACD titles which has been in LIMBO for awhile. Acoustic Sounds sometimes announces titles as TBA then sits on them for months.... or even years

I realize I am repeating myself but if the MONO Mobile Fidelity SACD of Johnny Cash could sound any better is beyond me. Yes the songs I love but while the sound is not quite the equal of the Rod Stewart Japanese SACDs it is still fantastic. Leaves the mono of Surrealistic Pillow in the dust
BTW track two I always skip and replay track 12 almost always.
