Really amazing performances, writing, cinematography, sets, music, editing, production values, the whole thing. And like I said: the story is just devastating.
Now i am loathe to post about non-surround movies in this thread, but the murder of Fred Hampton has fascinated me since i was a child growing up in the suburbs of Chicago. What initially appeared to be a shootout with the police was gradually revealed to be a government assassination. If Judas and the Black Messiah moves any of you to dig more deeply, i highly recommend the following film

I watched Judas and the Black Messiah last night, yes, quite devastaing story, but not suprising.
The series Snowfall depicts the same thing with the CIA flooding the Black communities with Cocaine and the new commercials I see from the Black community to the tobacco industry about targetting with tobacco menthol products.
Maybe some day as Bono from U2 says, all the colors will be as one.

So, what happens when the incredible series you've been watching FOR FREE on your FIOS subscription suddenly wants to charge you $2.99 for each HD episode after you've watched 3 for FREE. Well, you buy the EXQUISITE series on BD~V and fortuitously, AmazonUS had a buy two Get 1 Free sale and I procured the 2 disc set for $16, delivered and you know what .... the Blu Rays were superior to the FIOS/TNT HD episodes in terms of both picture and LOSSLESS 5.1 audio:

Just when you thought 3D was dead in the water, Warner Home Video announces the release of the new Wonder Woman 1984 in 3D being released on March 30th concurrently with the UHD4K and BD~V releases. Ok, so it's NO masterpiece but hey, at least it might be more tolerable in 3D!

sorry
give me LYNDA CARTER ANY DAY!!!!!
(Gal can sing "we're number 2!!!")

Ok

To return back to subject while I love 3D I thought the wonder woman sequel was absolutely terrible and I would not enjoy it again even with spectacular 3D.
Having said that I am glad to see a new mainstream 3D release.

Haven't seen it yet but from the trailers, perhaps casting Kristen Wig as the antagonist may have been a bit underhanded!

Dang Covid, we haven't had a decent new movie release in a year.
I'm jones'in for a new Marvel superhero flix or StarWars-Trek, done with all the latest sound tech. Grrrr

Getting down with this DVD for Black History Month

I'm checking out the Dolby Digital 5.0 mix, getting my kicks with one of the all-time great concert flicks. I'm in the midst of the action–wildly immersive, not relying on sonic tricks, and the combo of music and pix keeping hope alive opening my eyes and taking me to new highs. This snippet from the first cited review says it all: "The soul pulsates, the funk percolates and every performance is faultless and powerful. As great as the movie looks, the acoustic elements are equally outstanding." Most highly recommended! Righteous! Stay Surrounded, Comrades!

Well my friend, I watched and didn't really like it.
It was too choppy, almost every concert footage was chopped short. Star of the show was Rufus Thomas. I saw that in the bonus features that there was a full length of Albert King, but that was chopped also. The surround, whatever, not that great.
Disappointing was to watch it from a live concert point of view.
Not disappointing was to watch it from a historical point of view, really captures the times well.
Didn't want to be negative Clement, but I'm just sharing my experience.

Yeah, i was afraid that might be the case--did you read all of the reviews i linked? One of them advanced your same critique; when i link reviews, i try to give a spectrum cuz it's a subjective game! I'm sorry you didn't dig it. Maybe someone will buy it off of you . . .
