@jimfisheye

Yea, that's the one . Mono sound sent individually to each speaker.

I was pissed off !!
Because I could have probably gone if I knew they were in the City in 1969 , but like I said poor promotion , poor advertising.

Knebworth 1976 poster.
Kinda hazy but going right top : Rolling Stones , 10cc , Lynyrd Skynyrd , left bottom going up= Don Harrison Band ,
Todd Rundgren's Utopia .

Here is the cover of my programme for the day, only £0.40 in 1976, and the tickets were an exorbitant £4.25!! I've scanned one of the inner pages showing expected food prices as well for a laugh.

My last one ;

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers August 2014 MTS Bell Center , Winnipeg Manitoba
5.1 albums : Damn The Torpedoes , Mojo , Hypnotic Eye.
- Great Show "Running Down A Dream Tour" , but crappy seats -upper left seats in back of Arena ., surprisingly the sound was not that bad considering my seating.

Now of course there are a couple few other bands I've seen , but they have no studio surround albums.

-noteworthy news ;
Just saw on my television news : Genesis is going to be touring Canada this Summer ! 🥳

Great list of shows (y)
Hey, what was the best and worst sounding (audio quality) of those shows for you?
For the ones I was at, I’d say the Eagles had the best sound. And shockingly, Donald Fagen, one of the worst (as a big fan maybe I wasn’t expecting anything close to his DVD-A discs, but wasn’t prepared for the abysmal live sound I heard!)

Thanks! Yes had a heck of a time at pretty much all those shows.

A few that stand out sound wise was Roger Waters at The Sports Arena...not the best place to see a live show ..but I remember getting chills at the intro of Welcome to the Machine with the engine moving from speaker to speaker and whizzing around.. wow..

Another show that stands out was the Who at the Hollywood Bowl...Now I was a season ticket subscriber and the sound at the Bowl sucked , if you sat anywhere after the front half the sound was horrible. For that show I heard that they were using an all JBL speaker setup and it rocked.. It was also memorable because it was the first show without John Entwistle who passed only a few days ago in Vegas. Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend came out in dark shades , did not say a word...and ROCKED with a purpose and intensity like they had something to prove and pay tribute to their lost bandmate.

Can't really remember the worst sounding .. I was never a big fan of outdoor all day festivals...but nothing has stayed with me from the Stones 1981 Memorial Coliseum show, except that Prince was the opening act and got booed off stage.. twice!

@Infomas

That's one hell of a Concert list fwiw . Enjoyed the little "Concert quips".

:giggle:
It comes with age (the size of the list that is). I figured, if someone was nice enough to read through it, I should at least try and make it entertaining. Lowlight of the Steely Dan reunion tour was waiting in a huge line to go to the bathroom. Women were walking by and laughing at us, since it is normally reversed.

The mid-70's was the golden era for me and concerts; don't go to many anymore, too much of a hassle and the loud mono sound sucks usually!

This is only a partial list, too hazy to remember many others. *Not in chronological order - sorry.

The Who1975Des Moines, Iowa (Power outage in show due to Tornadoes but they stayed and gave a great show!)
That headline was so misleading. I thought Idi Amin was in town as well. Never thought of Ian as a madman. Maybe it's because their names start with an "I"?

I'm the same . Just don't have the compunction to go to live shows anymore.
Just not that enjoyable anymore.

And the ticket prices are ridiculous nowadays !
Especially considering what I paid for a late 60's/70's performance. Also I notice some shows turn into a drunkfest.
(The C, S, N & Y Concert comes to mind )

And the Concert Sound Experience is somewhat subpar , not always but still occurs.

I'll stick to the occasional small venue from now on , few exceptions.

Just not so enjoyable or thrilling at my age (66) .

Maybe I'm just getting to be a curmudgeon .🐏

Gentle Giant at the Hollywood Bowl! That must have been interesting.
