Tuesday update!

I worked very hard during the last 4 days to get to this point on all sold units.
I received the rectangular LEDs and soldered them in place.
All electrolytic capacitors are in place too.
There are still some resistors and connectors to add and then the ics.
I started to work on the input amplifier board and on the amplifier modules that needs to be completed.

Tomorrow will be my father's obituary.

From your QQ family, please know your family is so important.

I hope tomorrow is a good day for you and your family. Celibrate your Father. I'm sure he's celebrating you in heaven.

Peace.
Thank you.

Hi All!
I completely finished 7 pairs of mk-II control and screen boards!
I worked on the woodwork of the cabinets today. I really want to start shipping before the weekend.
If not, guaranteed next week!

I forgot!:p
I also have 5 completely finished mk-III units!

Summer will be fun with a
JCQS-440 mk-II / III Octa-scope! :LB

Awesome, I got the Marantz and Akai quad receivers all rebuilt this spring... ready to go... I also reconfigured the 7.0 HT so I got a couple of spare shelves and plenty of AC.

Nice joints! And I don't mean the kind you smoke...
Have you ever done DIY speaker projects?
No i haven't it's my first try. I know they are far from perfect. I will fill the gap and since they are to be black, it will not be visible.

TAKE your time!
I will have to redo the finish on the first cabinets. I'm not happy with the result.
The stain & varnish does not cover enough.
So tomorrow i will have to sand them again and use another opaque stuff.

It will probably take three or four more thin coats.

Take your time, open up a cold beer, do some 220 grit sanding by hand, not much needed, apply a thin coat. Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes per day.

To me, this is the most enjoyable part of working with wood.

One of them is not so bad, i think i will keep that one like that for now.
I cut and drilled 6 tinted plexyglass windows screen today. I'll show you the results later tonight

Have a look!
The tinted plexyglass is doing wonders for the screen
Note: The grey plastic buttons are too long and will be shorten.
This is one of the ugly stained cabinet...

How easy is it to pull it out from the cabinet?

I might want to repaint mine.

Boyd Coddington Black with LA River red flames, or Gulf Ford with orange flames over a baby blue background and a number 40. Good for 12K rpm.

I will only use it to watch movies like Grease, Bullitt, Talladega Nights (*), Cars, Lemans and The Best: Grand Prix (**)

(*) OK, only the parts about Baby Jesus and that Chevelle is seriously a baaad ride. i used to drive my friends '72 LeMans (350) with burnt out cherry pipes and 4 channel 8 track. Phew, that was surround sound...

(**) Note that I'm ignoring the entire punk series of The Fast and Furious... Pffft... good riddance.
