Hi,

I'm new to this forum, I have wanted a Dolby Surround Sound system forever and finally purchased a Marantz AVR with surround capabilities, Marantz SR6013 (2018 model), in late 2019. I was buying a lot of box sets that had surround capabilities so I had been dying to jump into this for several years, having bought Pink Floyd's Immersion box sets and some Rolling Stones SACD's, however I'm mostly a vinyl fan if you can believe it, and still use as my turntable a Bang & Olufson (B&O), Beogram TX (yes, linear tracking) w/ an MMC2 cartridge, that I purchased while I was in college in the mid 80's.

My top ten bands are the:

  1. Beatles
  2. Damned/Captain Sensible
  3. Sparks
  4. RoxyMusic/Eno/Jobson/Ferry/Manzanera & MacKay
  5. David Bowie
  6. Herman's Hermits
  7. The Animals/Eric Burdon/Alan Price
  8. Kate Bush
  9. King Crimson/Fripp/UK
  10. Yes/Asia/Rick Wakeman
  11. Genesis/Steve Hackett/Anthony Phillips
  12. Pink Floyd
  13. Beach Boys
  14. Kinks
  15. Yardbirds/Renaissance
  16. Who
  17. Frank Sinatra
  18. Bill Evans
  19. Johnny Cash
  20. Siouxie & The Banshees
  21. Cheap Trick
  22. Move/ELO/Roy Wood
  23. XTC
  24. Buzzcocks
  25. CSN&Y - and solo & combo's
  26. The Zombies/Argent
  27. Soft Machine
  28. Manfred Mann/Manfred Mann's Earth Band
  29. Simon & Garfunkel
  30. Adolescents

Whoops! I think that was 30!

Sundays are kind of slow around here, Casey. But welcome! Looks like you'll fit right in here. You've found your people.

"Dolby Surround Sound system"

Yes I have a Pioneer that plays SACD and DVDA and DTS discs
it has a Special Extra Power Dolby system
giving it a bigger boost even if paying DTS

Playing all types of Discs, is the best system to have
I changed all the speakers giving it a big upgrade.

Welcome to the pit! Your collection is quite eclectic, and your love for vinyl is shared (note my avatar). You’ll find lots of ways to help empty your bank account here.

You make Top 10 Band lists the same way I make Top 10 movie lists. I commend you on that.
