I want to get Quad Records to listen to but don’t have a Turntable yet. I want to get a Technics Table which Model would be better for Quad?
SL-1600MK2 or SL-1200MK5 I have the Rest
Technics SA-8500X Reciever, Technics RS-858US 2nd Generation 8 Track, Technics SH-3433 Scope, Technics EAH-420 Headphones brand new in Box, Technics EPC-440C 4-Channel Cartridge so would the 1600mk2 have the right wiring it would the 1200mk5 work?

You may want to ask the experts here which phono cartridge is best for the quad records you have or intend to buy.
I believe any of those turntables will be suitable if properly set up.
In other words, the wire count is the same, there may be small advantages to OFC wire or low mass tone arms to match cartridge compliance parameters.

Are you focusing on just one, or do you want to be prepared for all quad formats, for example, CD-4 vs QS vs SQ vs JVC vs EV-4 or any of the other several vintage vinyl 4-channel formats?
