Amazing! From what I can gather it's a double-disc set, catalog number SICJ-10008

The product listing from ratuken.co.jp seems to confirm it includes the quad mix, referencing both '4ch' and 'quadraphonic' in the description. Rough google translation below from the Japanese:

It rings a bell at least one of the jp sites allows tax to be paid in advance. Does anybody know which one(s)?

EDIT: Hang on - over £40 before tax? Ouch!

Awesome! It's been a while since we've seen a new release from Sony Japan. I hope it has the SQ LP cover graphics like those amazing Jeff Beck releases.

Great quad mix that appeared officially in SQ matrix form only (though there is a discrete reel transfer circulating).

Hopefully unlike the S&G quad SACD this one actually comes out

If I did the conversion correctly, $54.27 US Price. Wonder if like all the other recent SONY Japan QUAD SACDs it'll come in their beautiful custom 7" packaging. Cannot Wait. A monumental Davis album!

On the BIG plus side, SONY, unlike all the other major record conglomerates, is at least attempting to clear out their QUAD vaults between Dutton Vocalion and now a few SONY Japan releases. I still hold out hope for Bridge Over Troubled Water in QUAD, or, as we like to refer to it: A Bridge TOO FAR...........

Sony was apparently slated to release this title as part of their short-lived Multichannel SACD program around 2002, as this old catalog photo posted in another thread shows. It's unknown whether it was meant to be a new 5.1 mix or the a transfer of the old quad.

If so, then the DSD transfer and much of the work was already done and it sat there waiting to get released.

Great news, and good discovery.
