Please post your thoughts and comments on this 2019 50th anniversary edition of the 1969 album "In the Court of the Crimson King", the debut album from King Crimson.
This 2019 50th anniversary edition contains a brand new 5.1 surround mix, remixed by Steven Wilson.
This Blu-Ray contains a completely different 5.1 surround mix compared to the 2009 CD/DVDA-V edition, so all discussion of the 2009 5.1 surround mix should be in this thread: https://www.quadraphonicquad.com/fo...urt-of-the-crimson-king-2009-dvd-audio.11945/

I voted a solid 10. Excellent remix/remaster. On his second time around, Steve Wilson has managed to seamlessly enjoin the fronts and rears into a cohesive whole. Could never imagine ever listening to this classic Crimson album in stereo again!

And the fact that all the bonus features are included in LOSSLESS resolution [96/24] on a single BD~A along with the 5.1 remix finally makes full use of the capacity of this format. The disc's menu is likewise superb and the packaging is lovely as well. And all this for under $30 makes the 50th Anniversary edition of ItCofCK a worthwhile double dip for those who own the 40th Anniversary DVD~A or a no brainer purchase for newbies.

Definitely worth double dipping on this one. Greatly improved clarity and dynamics over the 40th anniversary. For the price of the disc (compared to some other multichannel releases) and the learning experience between the 10 years for SW it just really cool.
