Pink Floyd - "Animals" 5.1 Surround Sound Mix (Blu-Ray & SACD editions out in September 2022!)

i just did it the other night listening to Jeff Beck (RIP) Blow by Blow SACD. Works on mine.

I do not believe anyone is able to do this on a Sony X800, but would accept a brief 5s video clip as proof.

The Blow By Blow sacd I have (one of the original Sony releases) is not a hybrid sacd. There is no regular CD layer. It will only play on sacd players. Perhaps that is why this particular disc is working that way.

No matter what sacd it is you cannot change from stereo to multi or vice versa using the audio button on the remote, it must be changed in the settings

That is my experience too with all Sony Blu-ray player models compatible with SACD. I've not seen the Audio button on the IR remote work in switching Stereo/MCH with any model, only adjustable in the on-screen displayed Settings on all models I've used including S390/590/790, S5100/BX510, S6200/7200, and S6500/BX650/S6700.
I'm in N. America, models intended for other regions could differ.

Could someone who purchased the deluxe edition comment on the included book? I'm not sure we got the review of that after the fact—it looked like a pretty slight paperback piece, mainly with photos and not much else (we know the liner notes got nixed), but Discogs doesn't have detailed pictures so it's hard to say for sure. It seems to me that, along with being in a box of several redundant formats, it wouldn't be something worth driving the purchase of that edition... but, am I wrong?

No, you got it. Photos from the cover shoot, a few shots from a sound check, some photos of the giant inflatables, and tour fliers and ticket stubs-type memorabilia. That's it.

That was my thinking heading into the Animals 5.1 standalone BR purchase.
