http://www.genesis-news.com/news-Steve-Hackett-More-details-about-Wolflight-n438.html

For those of you who are big Genesis and Steve Hackett fans, you will be happy to know that Steve Hackett's new album "Wolflight" will be released as a 2-disc CD/Blu-Ray release with a 5.1 surround mix.

No details on who actually did the surround mixing (or stereo mixing for that matter). Hopefully it's someone like Steven Wilson and not Roger King who did the most DREADFUL surround mix on the Squackett album.

We shall see… :)

I am going to wait on the sidelines on this one as you are 100% on the Squackett, the surround mix is not any good and I would bet that Roger King is behind this release as found another link that says he plays on the album and has cowriting so I think that means he is pretty heavily involved on this one.

Here is another link about album:

Maybe Steven. ??

http://stevenwilsonhq.com/sw/steven-wilsons-new-year-update-2015/

For those who enjoy my classic album remix work, while I won’t be doing much of it in 2015, there are several projects I completed over the last year or so that are still in the release pipeline, including albums by Roxy Music, XTC, King Crimson, Simple Minds, Jethro Tull, Steve Hackett, and Yes. Just don’t refer to them as “remasters” please! (that’s something completely different to remixing, which is a much more in depth process).

That post seems to signal at a surround remix of a classic Steve Hackett album (like "Voyage of the Acolyte"?) as opposed to this new release.

But it's also possible that Steven Wilson could have mixed this new album too. We shall see! :)

I also would not mind if Jakko J was the one that was mixing this. Other than that, I'm not sure if there is anyone else besides SW or JJ that Steve Hackett knows that would be good to mix this album in surround.

Check this out, Steve Hackett has most of his albums in 24 bit flacs available, and Wolflight too, http://hackettsongs.sandbaghq.com/home/wolflight-studio-master-flac-pre-order.html
RELEASE DATE: 30th March 2015

Including 5.1 surround mix, interviews & two bonus tracks.

Wolflight is Steve's first original solo studio album since Beyond The Shrouded Horizon in 2011. Primal and orchestral, it retains the Hackett trademark as electric guitar runs right the way through with a regular sprinkling of acoustic. The concept behind it is a new unexplored chapter in the guitarist's career.

The ten tracks take the listener through a journey in space and time looking at the different faces of the endless fight for freedom. Wandering between parallel universes, Hackett explores contemporary and ancient cultures, from Greece (Corycian Fire) to the Far East (Wolflight), the USA and Martin Luther King (Black Thunder), but also his very own childhood memories (The Wheel's Turning) and the unresolved drama of domestic violence (Love Song to a Vampire).

Tracklist;
01 Out Of The Body
02 Wolflight
03 Love Song To A Vampire
04 The Wheel’s Turning
05 Coryclan Fire
06 Earthshine
07 Loving Sea
08 Black Thunder
09 Dust & Dreams
10 Heart Song

Bonus Tracks;
Pneuma
Midnight Sun
Notice how the description says including 5.1. As a lot of downloads are either stereo or surround, I asked SandbagHQ about this, and got this reply

Hi

I can confirm that the 5.1 mix is part of the download package, as per the product description

Kind regards

Great value for money! And I am moving more to files instead of physical media, so I cancelled my order at jpc and went for the download.

Roger King did the 5.1 mix for Wolflight. Mr. Hackett has mentioned this in a couple interviews so it seems to be pretty certain.

RA: My final question for you, Steve: I know that you’ve been working on a new album. Is there any information on when that’s coming out?

SH: I do have a new one, I just finished it, and we’ve mixed it stereo, it’s been mixed in 5.1 (Surround Sound). I let Roger (King) get on with the 5.1 because I knew the process...

Be aware, the download does not contain the 5.1 mix afterall!!!. An email from Sandbag from today

Hello

Thank you for your purchase of Steve Hackett’s new album, WOLFLIGHT.

Unfortunately there was an error in the product description that was on the store, stating that the digital products included a 5.1 surround mix, interviews & two bonus tracks.
These are actually only a feature of the Special Edition CD + Blu-Ray Mediabook (http://hackettsongs.sandbaghq.com/home/wolflight-special-edition-cd-blu-ray-mediabook-pre-order.html )

We apologise for this error and the disappointment it will cause.

We will, of course, refund your order if you now no longer want the digital album.

Kind regards
Sandbag

Cancelling the order is what I will do now.

I got this on order - I'll report back once I've had a listen...
