Baggy 24 days in to a self-imposed dry month...

Not sure what the plan is at the end of the month, but I sure miss a tasty brew, now and then!

Here’s my first beer for the weekend. San Francisco’s own Anchor Steam Brewing Co. (Porter 5.6% ABV)

Not sure what the plan is at the end of the month, but I sure miss a tasty brew, now and then!

I do the same thing every now and then. It’s good to give your body (and liver) a break.

I do as well. Maybe not a month, but a week or two once or twice a year, and I very very rarely open a beer during the week...just don't need *that* problem!

Sour done with, now one of those Ex Novo Brewing "Fresh Hop Eliot" IPA's (6.6% abv, 65 ibu). Very very good. Crisp, fruity up front and a dandy finish. I'm fairly sure I'll see offerings from La Cumbre and Bosque in the next week or two, maybe Boxing Bear as well...it's going to be a very happy hoppy autumn.

It’s Guinness time!

Checked on the latest home-brew (the gose) and it has finished fermentation so we got out the depth charger and added the prickly pear fruit...it'll get kegged sometime this week.

Last one from last night, the other pint from the little growler of Brew Lab 101 "Wicked Pissa" NEIPA (6.5% abv, 55 ibu).

And now, a can of La Cumbre's Oktoberfest marzen v2019 (5.8% abv, 35 ibu). A bit more malt than 2018, very well lagered...smooth.

Friday finally...beer o'clock...

First off is the share with Mrs DC - Prairie Artisan "Lil Nap" blackberry lime sour (4.5% abv, 10 ibu).

Now, another La Cumbre "Sun Fade" v2019 NEIPA (7.2% abv, ibu n/a)

Sharing with Mrs D, after kegging our prickly pear gose (which looks to be coming out very well) I thought we'd try this one - Area Two Experimental Brewing (Stratford, CT) "Synopsis - Prickly Pear" sour (6.4% abv). It's a decent sour but I'm not getting the taste of the fruit much, in fact we both wondered if I had opened the can of the Black Currant version as we thought it tasted more like that???
