So I was encouraged by a friend (Thanks Fourplay!) to attempt to document every concert I've ever seen. My list currently stands at approximately 700 concerts since seeing my first show in 1975 (Elton John.) It was no surprise to me to find that the artist who I have seen the most times is Todd Rundgren. (He's always touring, his tickets are affordable and he frequently shakes things up from tour to tour. And although there have been a few missteps along the way, the shows have mostly been pretty amazing.) To date I have seen the man perform 56 times. (Not a typo, 56!)

So who is the act that you have seen in concert more than any other? And how many times? Below is my list of artists that I have seen at least ten or more times.

Todd Rundgren (56)
Bruce Springsteen (43)
Peter Gabriel (26)
Billy Joel (21)
David Bowie (17)
Roger Waters (16)
Bruce Hornsby (16)
Elton John (15)
King Crimson (13)
Crowded House (12)
The Who (12)
The Musical Box (12)
Yes (12)
Tommy Keene (11)
Tears For Fears (10)

 thats a few gigs. I can't even remember all the bands I've seen (must be round a 100 or more), let alone the number of times! I'll have to put whats left of my brain into remember mode

California Guitar Trio >20
Kiss >10
Social Distortion >10
King's X 8
Joe Satriani >10
King Crimson/Levin/Belew/Bears... >20
George Thorogood >10

Now, best shows?
King's X, Dream Theater, Joe Satriani

Justin Sullivan & Friends
Pietasters, Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros, The Mighty Might Bosstones
Less Than Jake, Social Distortion, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Don't haver accurate counts, but off the top of my head....

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds
(so many times, probably enough unless he really drops a loot of the standard set)
Peter Hammill/VdGG - please Peter, come over here again...been about 10 years now.
Neil Young (though these days wouldn't pay a dime to watch him)

I have a spreadsheet of my concerts, but sadly it is not completely up to date, so these numbers may be higher:

Total Grateful Dead related (125)
Grateful Dead (with Jerry Garcia) (57)
Phil Lesh led bands (33)
Dead Cover Bands (17)
Bob Weir led bands (9)
All surviving members (7)
Jerry Garcia led bands (2)

Total Pink Floyd related including cover bands = (43)
Roger Waters (15)
David Gilmour (11)
Pink Floyd (9)
Floyd Cover Bands (8)

Gibson Jazz (Google "Gibson Jazz Concerts") (27)
Little Feat (15) plus related bands another 6 times
Tom Waits (12)
Doc Watson (11)
Huun Huur Tu (11)
Guitar Trio - Di Meola, McLaughlin, De Lucia (10) & individuals from the trio 9 more times
Rickie Lee Jones (9)

Wow. I have no idea of the number of shows I've seen. Certainly not as many as most of you. I can't believe some of you keep spreadsheets of attended shows. I would think a good portion of what I have seen was in the 70's before computers were even a reality. And the number of repeat artists on your lists.

I'm impressed.

My spreadsheet was compiled based on my ticket stubs, which I have kept since my first show.
