You can add Oranges and Lemons to the list of XTC titles (TBC) as Andy Partridge has stated that SW has finished the 5.1 mix.

Wooooooooo hooooooooooooooooo bring it on home Andy & SW............so that Snood can bring it home toooooooooo :51banana:

On a side note, here is an interesting passage regarding SW.

Regarding 5-1 mixes again the expense overrules the implementation. I talked to Steven Wilson and Nick Beggs about this at the gig in Edinburgh recently and had already discussed them with Calum on the “Feast” sessions. There isn’t the demand you may think and once again the cost overrules the reality. It’s a promo tool that is very expensive and even Steve said that he is overrun with requests from clients with far bigger fan bases than I have with far heftier budgets from major labels supporting them.

Context: The passage is written by Fish (SW wrote, produced and mixed on some of his albums).
Fish took to his blog to explain about what was and wasn't going to be included in his planned 2015 re-release schedule.

Sadly for me - 5.1 mixes are not viable for him but it was nice to read that apparently plenty of other people are knocking at SW's door.

Steven Wilson isn't the only kid on the block. There are other people like Clearmountain or Scheiner that can do the surround mixes that sound excellent, and if people like those two are busy, try someone like Al Kooper. Plus, I'm sure there are other really good sound mixers in the wings waiting to be discovered. :)

Good point about Clearmountain or Scheiner, but I have a feeling their asking price is probably more than Wilson's.
But there are certainly others, both discovered and undiscovered that could do a good job too. :)

Say Andy Jackson or even Giancarlo Erra.
However, the main issue seems to be that, for the older records, Fish does not have the budget to bake the multitrack tapes.

Well I was not really looking at it as Fish was stumped on who could mix 5.1 - He isn't pursuing it regardless.
I thought was worth noting as it was a good sign that there are multiple people wanting Steve to mix - Therefore more 5.1 product coming to retail.

Absolutely. And I do wonder who these others knocking at Steven's door are!

Very nice to see, that Steven Hackett's Sprectral Mornings will be released with a 5.1 mix.
It is my favorite Hackett album :)

What a great time :)
