Neat wasn't aware this was the next thing he was going to do.
I thought he might be coming out with a bluray concert film of the present tour as his next release(hoping its a release soon anyways as loved the concert) but this is a nice surprise to get from SW.

On another thread SW was cited as stating that there would be a video release from the Hand Tour, but it sounded like it will come from the next portion of it, in 2016.
Same on all counts. As Raven and HCE are two of my current favorite records (by a long stretch) I'm totally psyched for this.

No mention of the video for Routine being included on the BluRayThat's very disappointing, and I hope it gets added on--there will be plenty of room for it on that disc!
I think the blurb said "audio only" for the BD.
Kind of annoyed that the CD & Blu-Ray are separate releases, instead of putting them together like he did with the "Drive Home" EP.
Regardless, I am definitely in for this release and will preorder as soon as I get my next paycheck, which thankfully is tomorrow!

:I disagree. Each musician SW has worked with brings something different/unique to the table. While most of the solo band may be more 'technical', it doesn't make them better, just different.
I personally prefer the PT guys playing PT tunes, the feel is just not the same without them, if you ask me. I'm eager to hear the Ninet/SW duet though on Don't Hate Me.
No way! Gavin is probably the most talented drummer I know, even though I actually prefer SW solo stuff over PT.

I find the drumming on Deadwing and In Absentia to be a level below Marco's work. Too much simple time keeping, not enough fills. I tend to judge all prog by the drums. Gavin is of course very talented, but I am not one who thinks less is more when it comes to rock drumming.
So you think PT albums have better drumming than Raven?
It depends on what the listener is used to. I listen to a lot of metal, so I am used to drumming that propels the song, is very intricate and extremely technical at times. Some may prefer the drums to compliment the song and just 'support it'.

Cannot compare really as the 'feel' of the Raven demands something completely different from PT, more swing than power. As a personal aside though, 'Fear Of A Blank Planet' contains some of my favourite drumming on record. Metronomic?....not a chance.
I too am disappointed that I have to buy the BD and CD separately, but of course I will.... so they win. :violin
