The video is twice the quality of the DVD release.
The compression artifacts that were evident on the DVD are gonzo. A 50GB disc as I've read, and it shows.
I can't comment on the PCM 5.1 surround track because I don't have an HDMI enabled receiver... yet, but the 640 kbps DD track is a great improvement (yet again) over the DVD DD track.
A filmed concert with the expected grainy picture (and some varying film stock/cameras were used), but it's a must have.
