This is really interesting.

Pretty simply way to upgrade a vehicle.

Wish OPPO made a small portable DVD player and this head unit accepted its hdmi input for multi-channel. Problem solved. Products enriched.

So sad we have no way to currently play back Chicago Blu-rays in a vehicle.

And for that matter, why isn't there a simple surround option button so that rear speakers don't simply serve as double stereo and blast out rear passengers?

Very few vehicles have this option.

On a positive side-note, kudos to Hyundai for their updated support of DVD-A and discrete surround in latest Genesis. Nice to hear.

It amazes me how high on the list of priorities the music system is to customers...but how ill-trained the salespeople are to even explain the car's proprietary system. Never mind suggesting alternatives, because the manufacturers are doing their darnedest to make the OEM system a critical part of the cars' overall operation. Fortunately, there are scads of aftermarket dealers who can listen to your personal needs, understand your frustrations, hear your suggestions on designing what you want...then promptly respond with conviction and experience..."No. No, you can't do that."

The marketplace has spoken.
