Got served this ad. Curious how it sounds - I got this on blu-ray audio but it's stereo-only.

its surround-y alright! 👍 👍
nice find, thanks! finding the some of the Atmos stuff hard to find so much appreciated!

Sadly, no progress on this yet--neither WASAPI support nor Atmos bitstreaming support.

And granted: I'm not really conversant in this kind of thing, but having tried Apple Music Electron, I don't see how either of those capabilities could ever be added. As the developer admits, Apple Music Electron "basically just loads the Apple Music web player in an electron container." And no matter what "container" it's run in, Apple Music web player is a barebones web-based version of Apple Music with no built-in capability of changing playback settings, as far as I can see.

(Plus, at the moment, anyway, I can't sign in to my Apple account on Apple Music Electron without getting a spurious "not available in your country or region" error. Supposedly this was fixed in the latest build, but if so, then it broke again right away.)

@dabl, am I missing something?

I haven't tried a version later than 2.4.0

I had that problem and posted this thread, and figured out the solution (for me) if you haven't already seen that.

Thanks so much! (I guess I wasn't familiar with the navigation structure of GitHub sites, so I wound googling that error and only found earlier versions of that thread.) Now I can stream in (quasi-?) hi-res stereo to my AVR--and I know where to find all the hidden settings. Fingers crossed for WASAPI and DSD pass-through...

I feel like I am insane, but I am trying to get all nine of Beethoven's symphonies in Atmos. The Daniel Barenboim/Staatskapelle Berlin cycle is all in Atmos... except Symphonies 7 & 8 in Atmos are showing as No Longer Available. Anyone else have any better luck?

I was really surprised to find Maria Callas in Atmos, but unfortunately it's just an enhanced stereo mix. Fidelity is very good and somehow sounds better (opener and wider) than the pure stereo variant

I keep bouncing in and out of this thread, trying to find the magic bullet, but unless I am wrong it looks like the answer is to purchase a Apple 4K like like this one from Amazon
I have an extra HDMI slot on my Pre/Pro.
I currently have Amazon 4K FireCube with Tidal and Apple TV, but cant get Apple Music so I can play the Apple Atmos selections, I can play the Tidal Atmos selections.
If you have another suggestion, that would be great, I am not concerned about cost as much as I am the goal of being able to play Apple Atmos.
Thanks in advance.

Yep...I was in almost exactly the same boat.

Apple 4K box it is.

No I dont use it anymore, only the Apple 4K box now...
I don't subscribe to Tidal.

Another little buy gathering dust!!

Oh well

The Apple box is very good.

And that's from a non Apple user.
Yeah, I guess I could slide over my TV subscriptions username and password to the Apple.
Funny, when I was building my rig, someone told me that the Apple 4K was far better than the Fire4K, this was before they even started Atmos music on Apple.
Obviously I did not listen.
Just think if all of us audio geeks got together and had a gear sale, there would be a lot of stuff for sale, I have some stuff myself.
I keep hoping one of my kids can buy a house and I can set up an audio space with my extras, but they probably wouldn't want anyone to interfere with there ear bud music.

I'd be glad to hear that DG gave this a genuinely immersive, dedicated Atmos mix. Pretty much everything they've put on Tidal and/or Apple up till now has been "synthetic" Atmos--stereo mixes with a bit of light reverb added in the rears and heights.
Definately a reasonable mix and seperation on this one Humph....as I lept off me chair to confirm, by listening closely to front and back speakers.

Smashing release by the way.

Great to hear! The series of works that recently appeared on Tidal by John Adams, played by the LA Phil under Gustavo Dudamel, deserves the same treatment. Anybody heard those?
