I couldn't agree more Pups it is fantastic...
But fancy not Diggin Boz more.....Huh..... :D:cool:
It's real close for me, but I do love Boz's earlier stuff much more than this later era, like: Boz Scaggs and Band and My Time (but not relevant here- but up-mix cometh via take your pick- Penteo - SPECWeb 2 - SMv2!) Also, I just don't believe The Beatles Love is really eligible here, but I don't mind if ya gotta nudge it in ;)

Deffo : Boz Scaggs Dig

Out of all the hundreds of releases I have, this is always my go to album in surround.

Why?
Because it's just the most cool music.... period. :LB :LB :LB
I'm still musing over my choice, but Dig is high on my list (it was one I got late thanks to QQer Simon), and it is just a fantastic all rounder, but then there are the Steven Wilson and No Sound albums I love as well. Its really difficult!

I was going to include a ton of other albums but, for once, I restrained myself!!! :D
Of course Steven is way up in the stratosphere compared to other Artists and Mixers.

I just know that Boz's album hits all the right notes for me.
It may not be perfect but from my very first listening, I knew that this was exactly the type of music and feel that would keep me happy for a very long time.

Dig Boz!!!!

I'm partial to Donald Fagen/Nightfly/DVD/A, or Steely Dan/Gaucho/DVD/A, or DTS/5.1
Strong runner-up is Dire Straits/Brothers in Arms/DVD/A, or SACD 5.1
Of course, there's always LOVE; sort of a given

In classical-world, there's obviously a lot of choices, but too much is audiophilia - fine performances in good SACD sound, but not competitive but for the SACD element. Ivan Fischer and Rachel Podger on Channel, Julia Fischer on Pentatone, and others, were something else - demanding to be heard regardless of the SACD element.

Grateful Dead - American Beauty
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic
T Rex - Electric Warrior
Yes - Fragile

These classic albums reveal new elements previously veiled or not so obvious in their stereo mixes. And the music holds up after all these years.

I’ve always gotten better sound out of DVD-A with the equipment I have, than I do with SACDs. I’ve not thrown enough money at DSD yet I guess.

In the first post Jon says,NO REISSUES .

No doubt using your tried and tested method of all things come to those who wait!!
I hope you enjoy this album Mike, as much as others and I do.
No pressure eh.... :D

I'm still upmixing, on a production line, using SpecWeb!! Roxy and ELO in surround, fantastic.

ELO in surround! Wow, that sounds like it would be awesome. Any chance of getting a listen to samples?

Thanks,
Chuck

I thought that meant no older mixes but only fresh "newly mixed to surround" for that release.

I saw others mention Gaucho, so that one is disqualified as well? That was an older album given a fresh new mix or two.
