Aside from the different cases and graphics, are there major differences in the Q8's made/sold in Canada than their counterparts in the USA?

I have heard that many Canadian Q8s have channels reversed, or less agressive mixes.

There are also some Canada only releases, what's up with that?

Any 8 track specialists care to chime in?

Came across this gem a few years back. Is this a Canadian issue Columbia Q8 of Chicago VII?

United Artists Canadian Q8's came in gold coloured shells, very high quality and many used Dolby NR as well, many people balked when I suggested that the Canadian Q8 of Donald Byrd sounded almost as good as the DV SACD, but it's actually true.

Some were definitely reproduced under better conditions. The US Q8 of Chicago IX is notoriously hissy and muddy. The Canadian Q8, not so much.
I swapped the Canadian tape spool into my US Q8.
