This was good work from a Mod. And beyond the call of duty. Everyone gets to win!
So yeah, a remix from the multis of some really old albums, and released on DVD-A, I'd have never expected the sound to be this great. The sound quality was not hinted at in their older stereo formats released. I mean they are good recordings, nice on the ears.
I think these two DVD-As show us that it's not all in the mixing/mastering, but 24/96kHz PCM resolution actually has more thump and thunder than 16/44.1kHz. I mean I knew this already, but many believe it is simply more effort in the mastering process that gets us that richer demo clarity and thunder. And I think mixing and mastering are very important as well.
