I have owned this disc since it was released in 2004. Donāt remember where I bought it. The overall recording and sound quality is outstanding. The performances are pretty top notch across the board and the guests pretty clearly have a good deal of reverence for Buddy Holly and the Crickets. Surround is discrete and immersive with excellent highlighting of solos. Itās notable that Waylon Jennings performance on this disc was his last ever recording before he died on February 13, 2002. This also informs how long it took to complete this formidable project. Just the scheduling alone with this array of guests had to be quite the task: Eric Clapton, Nanci Griffith, Rodney Crowell, John David Souther, John Prine, Graham Nash, Albert Lee, Johnny Rivers, Bobby Vee, others and the original Crickets. If you can find it, buy it, especially if you enjoy āthe music that started it allā. Sadly some of these performers are gone now but at least these rare productions are preserved in 5.1 glory. Note - surround format is Dolby Digital Surround for DVD Video and Advanced Resolution Surround for DVD Audio.
