Deep Purple Machine Head Hybrid multi channel SACD. I haven't tried it but the cover notes claim the 4 channel mix is the original Quad version from 1972The 2 channel of this disc is far superior the to standard CD I own.

Yes, the original Q8/SQ-released European quad mix was used for the SACD, which was a different mix than the US Q8/Q4/CD-4 quad release. A third surround mix was created for the WB DVD-A.

Go figure!

Is there a song-by-song comparison somewhere as to the diff's between the UK & US Q8s? I was not aware of this.
