After Empath, Hevy Devy is back with more stuff in surround: 3 Disc Set containing CDs with both albums, a blu-ray disc with The Puzzle movie in 5.1 DTS and stereo audio. 6 Panel Digipak, 12-page booklet, O-card.

Musically The Puzzle is an artist representation of the time in quarantine, 30-40 musicians and artists involved from all over the world, it’s highly orchestrated chaos for The Puzzle, and highly orchestrated ambient chill with Snuggles. I guess you could think of them as very advanced versions of Devlab and The Hummer in some ways, 20 years later… but I’m very proud of it. It’s not a normal ‘album’ (that will be Lightwork, which comes out in March), but it’s a strange snapshot of the pandemic in a way that I think is super interesting.

This is a terrific surround sound experience (if you like the music). The Puzzle is a vast soundscape with snatches of songs dotted about while Snuggles is more ambient but with the same vast soundscape. Both are accompanied by visuals that fit the music. A very well put together package (2 CDs + a Blu-ray) and well in keeping with his recent surround sound releases. Great stuff (again if you can adjust to the music).
