That the last track on a lot of Columbia Q8's is more-often-than-not VERY aggressively mixed to REALLY show off what a 4-channel mix can do?

"Thank you (falletinme be mice elf, agin)" - Sly & The Family Stones' Greatest Hits
"The Turkey" - The Raiders' Indian Reservation
"Big Papa John" - Johnny Winters' John Dawson Winter III
"Undercover Man" Edgar Winters' They Only Come out at Night

I could probably think of others. Might all be in my head, too.

Probably just coincidence, but I thought of a few others:

"Astronomy" - Blue Oyster Cult's Secret Treaties
"Burnin' Bush" - Earth, Wind & Fire's Spirit
"Angry Eyes" - Loggins & Messina's self-titled
"Loves Me Like A Rock" - Paul Simon's There Goes Rhymin' Simon

Not saying it's not intentional, but if the 8-track follows the album order, then it's the original stereo album that determines the last track. Just sayin'.

It's the VERY aggressively mix being noted - rather than which track is selected for ending an album I think.
