Very good music, performance, good orchestration and competent if not exciting vocalist combined with good surround mix, what more could I ask for, I love this disc. A solid 8 for something that can be found at a bargain price.

This disc still gets a lot of play here. A full orchestra is a great treatment for these mostly familiar standards. I have quite a few Concord Jazz SACD's and haven't yet found one I don't like. Of course nobody is going to show off a surround system with this disc but unless everybody else is embarassed to admit liking music like this, I can't imagine nobody has any comments. This kind of music doesn't sell well today for most artists, unless of course you are Rod Stewart, but none of his standards albums are nearly as good as this.
