A LOT of reviews pertaining to UHD4K discs do point out that the image appears darker .....because the higher resolution can handle darker levels which also increase shadow detail most especially when HDR10 and Dolby Vision are applied.I still haven't bought this but am awaiting the NZ dollar to sort itself out cos:
1. It's a gem and one of my many favourites.
2. I want to see if there's any merit to all of the "it's too dark" bleating I've read on the interwebs about it.
Have any QQers got it yet and can let us know what's what?
Thanks for the heads up but I think I'll wait this latest installment of Classic Monsters out until it dips either further like Volume IUniversal Classic Monsters Volume 2 (The Bride of Frankenstein, The Mummy, Creature From the Black Lagoon, Phantom of the Opera) is on preorder at Gruv for $54.99 which is quite a bit cheaper than the $72.99 at Amazon...and of course you can use the SIGNUP20 code to get 20% off; I did.

I did the same and got it for $32. But I have all this Revolver money laying around and figured $42 was ok.Thanks for the heads up but I think I'll wait this latest installment of Classic Monsters out until it dips either further like Volume I

Then you can always add CHILD'S PLAY in Native UHD4K to your collection ..........I did the same and got it for $32. But I have all this Revolver money laying around and figured $42 was ok.
I have the 4K UHD theatrical release (not the definitive version pictured). Yes it is dark but it is faithful to the original release on film. After 10 mins watching you forget about that and appreciate the improved definition. "I didn't hesitate, not for one second, because no-one was going to get in my way when I bought this movie"I still haven't bought this but am awaiting the NZ dollar to sort itself out cos:
