Posting here inspired me to revisit the film that started my love affair with Alfred Hitchcock

Alfred Hitchcock Psycho
Stone cold masterpiece and the DTS:X mix made me squirm just like back in the day! Highly recommended!

When my father took my younger brother & me to the cinema to see it when it came out (1969) it was shown in Black & White! Is the new release in colour?
Says colo(u)r on Criterion's site:
https://www.criterion.com/films/27560-kesIma need to check this film out . . . next 50% sale! It was one of the four films i hadn't seen in the posted list of 100 films! Not sure how i missed it after reading all about it!

Now streaming on HULU, Robert Mapplethorpe The Director's Cut ..... a controversial study of the life of legendary SoHo artist/photographer Robert Mapplethorpe from his earliest days growing up in Long Island to his rise to fame known for his Black & White portraits of flowers, male/female nudes and the Who's Who of pop culture, including his girlfriend at the time, singer Patti Smith.

British actor Matt Smith [The Crown, Last Night in Soho] plays Mapplethorpe effectively capturing his rise from total obscurity to global recognition. Mapplethorp died from AIDS at age 42 but his glorious body of work lives on. Great period soundtrack from the 60's, 70's and 80's

Highdefdigest's MUST OWN review of Tony Scott's TRUE ROMANCE [Native UHD4K/HDR10/Dolby Vision/DTS HD~MA 5.1] And I couldn't agree more with a screenplay by Quentin Tarantino and chock full of superstars Brad Pitt, Christopher Walken, Gary Oldman, Val Kilmer [as ELVIS], James Gandolfini, Dennis Hopper and of course Patricia Arquette and Christian Slater. Video/Sound: SUPERB!

I have this as well and watch it a couple of times a year. Love the dancing in the park with “Aquarius” and of course the end of the film with “The Flesh Failures/Let the Sunshine in”.

I watched the Native UHD4K ARROW remaster of John McNaughton's 1998 Thriller WILD THINGS last night and was mightily impressed by a brilliant transfer and an unabashed GUILTY PLEASURE viewing experience. I watched the 114 minute UNRATED version. A star studded cast including Matt Dillion, Kevin Bacon, Denise Richards, Neve Campbell, Theresa Russell, Bill Murray [hysterical], Carrie Snodgrass, Robert Wagner and Daphne Rubin~Vega move this sordid tale along admirably with more twists and turns than a crooked highway and be sure to watch the end credits as more revelations unfold during the final roll. Immersive sound design and great George Clinton soundtrack, as well! The THEATRICAL cut is also included.

Arrow's wonderful package includes a 58 page booklet, 6 5x7" Lobby Cards and a poster in a sturdy slipcase. GREAT JOB ARROW and highly recommended to fans

Thanks Ralph! Mo' movies on theys way.

Here we go AGAIN. Great deals on UHD4K titles as well........I try to cross reference ALL discs with technical reviews of the BD~V discs. Beware, some are dismal!

FREE s/h in the US for orders $50 and over!

EDIT: I ordered 9 films, 2 of which are UHD4K and my total w/tax was $108. NOT BAD!

BTW, Pete, what are your s/h charges to NZ? Or shouldn't I ask?

Thought I would check B&N to see if there is a hint of their Criterion sale yet. Nope but all Arrow and Kino videos are 50% so some are decent prices compared to normal shopping destinations.

Another tidbit from thedigitalbits regarding the 20th Anniversary deluxe steelbook edition of Christophe Gans' BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF

Meanwhile, we’ve learned that Christophe Gans’ Brotherhood of the Wolf is coming to 4K Ultra HD in France on 9/23 as a new 20th Anniversary Edition from Metropolitan Film & Video and StudioCanal. The film’s original language is French, but keep in mind that it’s likely the release will not include English subtitles. You can see the title’s Amazon.Fr listing here.

Love Brotherhood Of The Wolf, but only have it on DVD. Will this new 4K version ever be released in the US?
