If I didn't already have a CD-4 demod, I probably would put in a bid.

I believe I can make something like that work, but I already have enough projects, including a couple that I will probably put up for sale once I'm sure they work well.

HK 44+ was the first demodulator I owned. It had its issues, like loud bursts or splatters of noise when the carrier would drop out. The Pioneer QD-240 I replaced it with, using the same cartridge and turntable, did not exhibit such noises.

It isn't clear whether it is broken or just untested. Most folks couldn't test it and wouldn't know how. But there are folks who feign iggorance to unload stuff they know is a dud. I bought a stack of matrix LPs on a lark and they were pretty reasonably priced and I would not need to buy any extra gear to play them.
CD4 requires a great deal larger committment. The demod is just the first step. The first one is free.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
