I recently emailed Fosgate Audionics about my Tate, to clarify exactly what the units with AA at the end of their serial numbers offered.
Joe Dahlquist was kind enough to email me back, and here's what he wrote :-
The "AA" rating on the TATE 101A refers to having matched steering IC's. The parts when purchased from the supplier were graded on linearity amongst other things. The premium pieces (parts that scored highest in testing prior to being used) were set aside. The units denoted with a "AA" were able to utilize only the cream of the crop IC's. I would consider myself very lucky to have one of these. Quite a find there indeed!
Thanks
Joe Dahlquist
So there you have it, folks! another great piece of info to add to the quad files !!
