Is this the same Lou Dorren?

As we know now it is. The Beau Brummels were Lou's recording artists and he was very proud of them. He spoke to me of his recent work with them almost every time we spoke.

Thank you Jon for confirming this. May he rest in peace. I guess this puts and end to the ultimate CD4 demodulator and the rest of his projects. I will have to be very careful where I use his record cleaning fluid as there will be no more.

Before Lou's passing, I was browsing in Amoeba records. A guy struck up a conversation and I indicated I was looking for surround and quad recordings. Turns out this guy was doing some promotion for Lou's Beau Brummels releases. He knew all about Lou's CD-4 stuff. He said Lou was a real character (in a good way). Just such a coincidence some stranger knew Lou and picked me to have a conversation with.

I too had an interesting crossing with another of Lou's former professional associates.

In October I bought a sealed copy of the Soundbird CD-4 Quadradisc Test Record on Ebay. The seller had included a photograph of two Panasonic and Matsushita "Product Specialist CD-4" business cards as part of the auction photos.
When I inquired about them, it turned out they were his old business cards. He was involved in CD-4 for discrete radio broadcasting, and spend a month at Lou's facility learning the technical aspects. I invited him to the forum, and he
did join as BobZ. He was reading various links I passed on to him regarding Lou, and his demodulator project, and discrete FM broadcasting, but hasn't been too active otherwise and we haven't exchanged emails since October.

I wanted to introduce him to the forum, but wanted to let him take his time getting comfortable with all of us, and didn't want to inundate him with enthusiastic questions from everybody. As our emails trailed off, and he didn't attempt
to post much, it slipped my mind to actually introduce him.
