Are the Led Zeppelin's live tracks?

So how does one get access to studio multi-tracks, and who does the mix-down, and into what channel format ?

They come from a variety of sources - some have found their way into the collectors market by less
than honorable means. each has a story - and each has it's own challenges (Thriller has 144 tracks to work with -
with lots of alternates - 3 different versions of Vincent Price's part - but they can be fun,
who does the mix-down? - in this case I do
not sure what you mean by channel format? I mix things down to quad (have no interest in 5.1) -
generally lead vocal in front center, rhythm section in the rear, lead instruments in one of the corners,
basically, whatever feels right. my main reason for doing this is to have real quad mixes of favorite
songs - then matrix encode them for my shows.
BTW - every Coldplay and Judas track has been encoded using the Involve encoder.

 Love it Bill - that's right up my alley!!!

Holy Crap 8 AM Human Standard Time? I'm not even done with my eggies & Bloody Mary. That is the best line up I think you've ever done. It's on me, I guess, to get sleep at a responsible time to enjoy this.

Edit: Really ? When was BS FWIW in quad?
