Can I presume that Keith Jarrett's 5-disc set from 1997 - "The Impulse Years 1973-1974" - is not QS encoded? The liner notes credit Wally Buck with "Digital Remix."

You probably can rely upon that.. The individual CD albums come up on the Bay ocassionally, Fort Yawuh and Treasure Island are on there right now. (Not mine, nor anyone I know ...) John S.

I see the question about the Keith Jarrett 5 cd set Impulse years 1973-1974. Is there any new experiences that it is indeed QS quad?

I don't know for sure, and I don't know what they mean by a "digital remix," exactly, but I think that this set also used remastered versions of these albums. Some but not all earlier CD issues used the original masterings, where the QS encoding survived. These two threads might shed some light:

Tested Keith Jarrett Fort Yahwuh, and Treasure album lp against The Impulse years '73 - '74 5 cd set, and it is QS encoded and decodes and sounds same as original quad lp. I am still testing the edited or lengthened versions on the cd set, as well as the previously un-released titles in set. Backhand, and Death and the Flower cd's from this set decodes nicely also with last version Sansui Vario-Matrix decoder.
