Allan Holdsworth – Wardenclyffe Tower
http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/129069

"Holdsworth's synthaxe parts are a well integrated and crucial part of the sound. His leads and solos are tasteful and as wondrous & mind-bending as ever.
Most crucially, the songs are arranged in a way that enhances his inherent strengths; wandering, ethereal & beautiful"

Imogen Heap - Sparks

Interesting concept. She recorded the songs individually, allowing 3 months each over a 3 year span, then assembling them at the end into this album.
Despite that it’s cohesive. She is acquired taste IMO but admire her originality and dedication.
My copy has a bonus disc with instrumental versions of each track. I find her processed vocals a tough listen sometimes so these vocal-less versions really highlight the inventive sounds and melodies
