Dream Theater A View From The Top Of The World.
I have not spun the 5.1 yet but am rather enjoying the stereo.
Let me say that that as big a fanboy as i am, lyrics aside, I could probably recreate most of this from older albums. They did not break any ground with the release and may have reused more than a few riffs and progressions.

Although Laura Nyro only performed in Chicago a few times, I caught her live twice at the Vic.

Christmas isn't a holiday album, although it is referenced in one track. Duane Allman guests on the track Beads of Sweat. Entire album was produced by Arif Mardin and Felix Caveliere

New York Tendaberry was her best selling album in the day, although it had no hits. Time and Love did get some airplay on ABC FM stations. From a whisper to a scream. From her and her piano to an entire orchestra all in the same song.

Never saw her LIVE .... MY BAD.

Loved the interview with Elvis/Sir Elton where Elvis describes her performance at the Monterey POP Festival where she appeared on stage in a long black gown and was wearing a Tiara ..... of which Sir John quipped: "Good For Her!" Hilarious!

Melody Gardot - Currency of Man

Artists Cut Edition, 5 tracks added, others lengthened, the whole thing resequenced.
A real tour de force, IMO, her best album (though haven’t heard her latest yet).
Grammy nominated for engineering and I can hear why, great big open sound

Yes, Puppo, Double Door is closed, although only temporarily. Their landlord refused to renew their lease, as it is reputed he wants to redevelop the Milwaukee Ave. property. So, they will be reopening in '22 a few miles North. The new location is about 1 mile from Wrigley Field on Wilson Ave,

kd lang - Watershed

Deluxe edition in a clamshell box, with bonus live disc.
Nice album, laid back yet not boring.
Really nice recording. David Piltch’s prominent bass especially well done.

Golden Earring - Moontan Remastered & Expanded
Recently released 2CD set from Red Bullet. Have always loved this album but really haven’t listened to it in ages. After hearing it again with fresh ears, I can easily say I still love it!

This release features a very nice and uncompressed remaster by Wouter Bessels. Most people know Golden Earring because of Radar Love, which is a great and classic song, but I really dig the extended cuts like Candy’s Going Bad and Vanilla Queen where the band mines more progressive elements. The booklet and extra cuts do a good job giving you a complete picture of the band and Moontan. Highly recommended!
