Canned Heat - Boogie With Canned Heat

Always avoided this band because I didn’t like the creepy vocals on “On the Road Again”. But now that I’ve tried them out I know what I was missing.
Boogie is an apt description. And the sound Iconoclassic (i.e Vic Anesini) has wrung from this is really good

Joni Mitchell Archives Volume II [Rhino/5 RBCDs] What a gorgeous tribute to Joni. 5 superbly remastered RBCDs in a stunning clamshell case with a 35 page high quality glossy booklet. Disc 5 contains Joni's classic RIVER from the BLUE Sessions with lovely French Horns and URGE FOR GOING with strings. And ALL this for $30 from Deep Discount. Highest Recommendation.

List Price, BTW is $65

Son of Dracula - Nilsson Japan CD bought this at R&R HOF.
A Winter's Garden - Loreena McKennitt CD EP
CSNY 1974 CD 1 also bought the BD set
Canned Heat Christmas Album 3 archival tracks w/Bob Hite & Alan Wilson Eric Clapton. Dr. John & the Chipmunks guest

cbmmmmmmmm3, When MTV played music, I saw a show on highlighting new acts. Ben & Tracy impressed me and I ran out and bought a UK LP of EBTG Eden. I've since bought it on UK CD (autographed when I met them), US LP EBTG s/t, and UK 2 CD expanded. ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL!

Rang:
Popeye sat on the shelf sealed for 4 years since 2 CD released. I kept promising to play it at a time when Joe could listen. He bought LP back in the day. Here and there, I review what I haven't played. Waited too long. Harry's voice on the Demos sounds better than it had in years.

Eva Cassidy LIVE AT BLUES ALLEY [Blix Street Records/Remastered RBCD] Tragically, Eva Marie Cassidy passed away at age 33 from Cancer but left behind a brief but wonderful legacy and her self financed LIVE AT BLUES ALLEY set is a stellar example of her unique/heartfelt interpretations of Jazz and popular standards. Highest Recommendation. The voice of an angel was silenced way too soon!

Finally cracked the Climax Blues Band -The Albums 1973-1976 set after almost a year in the pile.

Starting with FM/Live
Decent performance from what I can tell. The sound is typical 70’s live album, not hi-fi by any stretch of the imagination but listenable.
Saw them live lots of times, a perennial series of gigs often around the same time as Lindisfarne did their Winter ones (which were brilliant as well).

I’ve been listening to some of these (cds and vinyl) today. My son is the guitarist in all four. A greatest hits 92-18, lol. Notice the tape of the Sunday afternoon Hostile Environment gig at CBGB’s. Chatted with Hilly while they were on stage. Cool dude!
Chris’s latest efforts can be found on YouTube as Dimension1.

some good news, looks like Rubellan Remasters is going to live to see another year. They sent me a news blurb with interesting new material coming for 2022. Good to see !!

That’s good to hear, I saw something on Facebook about another Visage release.
He seems to go through periods of discouragement followed by a flurry of releases.
