Slightly divergent from (or maybe "adjacent" to?) this thread, but there's a primer on John Luther Adams at Bandcamp today. Many of his works are available on Apple & Tidal in excellent Atmos mixes, and a handful of those works also have 5.1 mixes that can be purchased in physical form (DVD-V) via Bandcamp.
