Ryn Weaver - The Fool
Wow, this mix is wild even in 5.1! (credited to Dave Emery)

This is the kind of moving sounds that can bother and even make you dizzy for some people.
The use of alternating the sound in the sides, make that sensation of hearing something only from one ear that can disturb your brain.
I understand that some music purists may hate these effects, but I enjoy them :D
Another 'demo' mix to show to family and friends.

The Atmos engineer pulled out all the stops in this release.

THE MIX IS UTTERLY FANTASTIC.

The music is growing on me.

Just altered the bat cave by replacing the old office chair with a recliner.

This meant the rear speakers were hidden...not any more.
A pair of metal 40cm stands and I'm in total 7.2.4 heaven.

I have the sofa in the picture, with three seats, recliners with motor. I immediatley chose that model when I saw the movable headrest. Look picture with the right one in the up position for beter rest when reclined.

When headrest is in low position, I have full line of sight from my ears to the Surround Back speakers.

Two new ones.

Ex-Bad Plus pianist Ethan Iverson's trio debut for Blue Note (with Larry Grenadier and Jack DeJohnette!). Three preview tracks only, and a typical Blue Note mix, which is to say: not all that much happening in the rears or (especially) the overheads. Nice album, though, and another indication that BN is mixing all its new releases for Atmos as a matter of course.

And the latest release from semi-reclusive/slightly eccentric/critical darling rapper Earl Sweatshirt. Much more active & adventurous, not surprisingly:

This one dropped today and like the album cover is a rock bomb- with a great (so far) Atmos mix to boot.

Looking like a playlist booster with first track added- and an amazing transition from driving rock to saxophone. Unique: 9/10.

Second track has nice driving guitar riffs spread of back-up vocals in the rears. Nice. 8.5/10.

So far, so good.

A great synopsis of this album on Apple Music with track commentary of lyrcal intent and context.

Album finished with 4 tracks added to playlist- which is a healthy return.

Starting a trend by rating this one 9.5/10 as enjoying it more on repeat listen and I can’t criticize the application of surround- which is a rarity for me.
