Pulled up that one Schiller release, and started poking around his other stuff since there is that one album of his in Atmos *not* on streaming and found this;

The name would imply a live release (and the length of 50 minutes would imply that as well), but I can find nothing about it online. I found some pics on his site that *look* like a live event, but no track list or anything…

Maná 10 Atmos albums in Tidal:

After a quick random listening to all these albums ... it looks like upmixed. :(

Looks like Front stereo sound copied to sides mainly reverb. Vocals not in Center. Looks like Quad style not discrete. Very low level reverb on Top Rears. Much less (almost nothing) on Top Fronts.

I does not sound bad, It sounds like immersive, but Not discrete at all. Minimal (if any) instruments separation.

iirc damn near his whole discography was mixed in 360RA by Visconti for the museum thing they did last(?) year. Assuming this is the same mix as that, it likely is mixed by him...
Aren't the early Bowie 360RA's just the 5.1's?

Daniel Bélanger - Mercure en mai (2022)
Not gonna spoil this one for you - just make sure you don't miss it, it's album good and not shy mix-wise.
Couldn't find it on Tidal.
This is the type of album that makes me happy I decided to get a streaming service this year.

I’m still someone who prefers to own the music I like, but there’s no way I would have stumbled upon this on my own (generally not my style of music) or even bought it (assuming it was available on disc... I guess I should look into that now) without hearing it on streaming first.

I had this turned up pretty loud and got the crap scared out of me at about the 50-second mark of Joie when the voices come in from the rears.

Have no clue what he’s singing about, but it’s a fantastic mix.
