All the time I thought these were soundtrack LPs or otherwise related to a rather scandalous B movie of the same name ("Mandingo") that came out about 1972.....

Well, it makes sense as there were so many Soft Porn flicks coming out in those days. The music would have been suited for one of those. :)

From what i remember reading on a Floyd blog, someone used on such a flick one whole side of Electric Moo...

Still better than "Metal Machine Music" by Lou Reed, which would have meant plooking in slow motion...

...do you think we could have one for each of the Mandingo's? - that would Be 'Sacrifice', Mandingo III and 'Savage Rite'.

Did Savage Rite actually come out in quad? Discogs doesn't seem to think so. I also wonder if Primeval Rhythm and Sacrifice came out in Q8.

I have Primeval Rhythm in SQ (U.K. press) and Mandingo III in both SQ and Q8 (Canadian). Have the Sacrifice SQ (German press) on the way...

These are really active, aggressive quads! The music is really dense- each track features layers and layers of drums/percussion, synth, horns, and guitars. There's plenty of swirling/panning effects too.

they came into the charity shop i volunteered at, now i wish i'd at least "borrowed " it to listen to
i massively overpriced it due to being young and naive with a copy of the record collector price guide but it sold!

I have a conversion of this, the quad mix is OUTSTANDING, the music quality is variable there is obvious talent but some of the "songs" sound like made for tv music, an overall pleasant listening experience but unsure how often it will be revisited
