Matrix (Quad/Surround Sound) Systems - Japan Only

Over the years, I've seen images of (usually LPs) labels that state the album is matrix encoded, but they don't state SQ, QS/RM or Stereo-4.

Perhaps the record maker was just trying to cash in on the Quad market without having to pay any kind of royalty.

Has there been any accounting of what these matrix systems were (close to QS, but different enough to not infringe on QS IP protections)?

I don't, IIRC, one was the QX matrix, IIRC, associated with Tosbiha, but I'm not sure.

QS and Regular Matrix are the same matrix.

There was a charge to use the QS logo, but none for using Regular Matrix.

Looks like this issue has already been dealt with, but I don't know how close to QS these other matrix systems were.
