I was going thru the setup menus on my Sony BDP-S6700 Multichannel SACD player.
One audio option is to downmix disc content (MCH SACD, DTS) to Dolby Surround.
The (DV) Hugo Montenegro SACDs have amazing directionality when
encoded as DS and decoded with Dolby Pro-Logic.
The Telarc DTS Demo disc (1998) has good directionality also.
My Elton John SACDs played this way sound OK, but probably aren't mixed
to provide ping-pong type Surround Sound.
I don't know if other MCH SACD players offer a DS downmix option, the
option could be used to create Stereo content of the MCH content (for
Stereo Headphone or Car Stereo listening).
I'm using an RCA brand HDMI > analog stereo (and video) converter.
